80:180 II - Hip Hop vs DnB @ Youth Park

Clash of sounds. Hip Hop vs. Drum & Bass. Following the success of last year's "80:180", the followup installment promises to be a massive event. Unfortunately the turnout wasnt as much as expected but it was a great show nonetheless. On the D&B side of the camp, the DJs and MCs managed to rocked the crowd wit thier sets. 180 bpm that made everyone move. The Hiphop acts on the other hand did thier thang and delivered lyrics over the different spectrum of the Hiphop soundscape from bouncy beats, to soulfull sounds to straight-up-hip-hop-head-knoddin' beats. K.I.N.G. returned wit some laidback, soulful, chillout stuff and later joined us in our "5th Element" song together wit F.B.I. We also got to perform "Kill Bill" wit Bless as well as a collabo track conceptualized by Phrase from Proverbs entitled "Angels" featuring Proverbs, X'statix & Majestik Legacy. We have a live recording of "Angels" for ya'll to check out exclusively on this site. Stay tune for things to come in the year 2005. Resurrection of dead lyricists...

SGHIPHOPFEST '04: The Aftermath

SGHiphopFest. Despite the delay and wait, post-rain muddy soil, poor sound system and a few cancelled acts, hundreds turned up to witness the the biggest hiphop gathering of the year,that showcased homegrown hiphop acts such as Proverbs, Triple Noize, Ahli Fiqir, B'Vintage Flav'r as well as established acts from neighbouring countries such as KLG Sqwad, Too Phat, Phwlowtron, TTC and many more. Overall it was quite a success although it did not really live up to the hype. X'statix also had the chance to perform at the fest and we would like to thank those who supported us. We also got to witness eight emcees reunited together to represent As One on da mic. We'd like to thank the organizers for thier effort in holdin such an event and thank everyone who came and all of the performers for putting up a great show for everyone. Hope the next HipHopFest will be a better one.

Kill Bill

It's been quite a while since we updated this page and things have rather been stagnating lately thus it's about time we let ya'll in on some shit we did a few months back. Inspired by Quentin Terentino's flicks, here's a track wit the same name as his recent martial arts flick entitled "Kill Bill". A deadly instrumental done by Pure Phraze laced with equally deadly lyrical wordplay by X'statix and guest starring Bless. Lots of Terentino's movie references embedded within the verses so it'll be interesting for those familiar with his works and rather confusing for those who have never seen any of his movies. "Kill Bill" will be featured in DivineAura's mixtape entitled "Voices From Beneath" (For more info on the mixtape refer to previous entry).So don't forget to cop that shit when it's out.
